Eileen McVicar~Schnyder is an artist and visual arts educator who has been working at RHHS since 2002. At the district level, she has served as the K-12 Art Program Coordinator since 2008. At the State level, she has been a consistent presenter at the CAEA annual professional conference and has served as the co-leader of the Digital Arts Assessment Task for the State Department of Education since 2008. The CAEA named her Connecticut's Outstanding Secondary Level Art Educator in 2010. She holds a BSN from St. Joseph College (now university), BFA from Paier College of Art in Studio Art, Art Educator Certificate and an MFA in Computer Art from SVA. Her background includes employment as an adjunct professor of graphic art at ECSU, Project manager/office manager and assistant designer for a small multimedia firm in NYC, and prior to that as an RN for 16 years at Hartford Hospital.
