 Announcements:  

  • I just wanted to let you know that the RISE club and Y2Y club will be having a food drive starting on Monday, October 23. I'd like to put this in the daily bulletin, Starting on Monday, October 23, the RISE club and Y2Y club will be collecting nonperishable food items for the Rocky Hill Food Pantry. There will be boxes in every homeroom to collect food. 
  • The Student Council will be sponsoring a dance on Saturday November 4th from 7-11pm in the High School cafeteria.  Tickets will be sold during lunch waves starting 10/23. 
  • Rocky Hill High School Spirit Week:
    • Monday 10/23 - Pajama Day
    • Tuesday 10/24 - Favorite Sports Team/Jersey Day
    • Wednesday 10/25 - Superhero Day
    • Thursday 10/26 - Tie Dye Day

  • Attention juniors and seniors:

    The ASVAB test is free of charge and is offered to high school and post-secondary students as a part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. The test measures your skills and interests in a number of different areas to predict success in specific careers and will provide students with the tools to learn more about potential careers and career planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work.

    The test will be held in the Library on Thursday, November 16th at 7:30am and will take no longer than 3 hours. If you are interested in taking the test, please see Mrs. Notarangelo in Guidance. 

  • Wall decorating for the Pep Rally will take place on Thursday October 26th from 2:30-5:30pm in the gymnasium.  Please see your class officers or advisors if you would like to help.
  • Attention Seniors applying to Nichols College:
     
    Nichols College offers one deserving senior the opportunity to be nominated for the Early Action and New England Principal's Leadership Award (NEPLA) Scholarship worth $74,000. Criteria is a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.5 and an SAT score of 850 or higher. If you meet these criteria and hope to attend Nichols College, please submit your name to guidance by November 17th along with a copy of your resume. 
  • If any student would like to volunteer for Spirit Night at West Hill School on Thursday October 26th please sign up with Mr. Horvath in room 2066.
  • UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD - COLLEGE NOW PROGRAM

    Opportunity for eligible seniors to enroll in one college course per semester on a tuition-free basis for the Spring 2018 semester.  Deadline is Friday, November 3, 2017.  Information can be found on the Guidance website.

  • 2018 Science & Engineering Apprenticeship Program
    Summer opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy laboratory.  Students interested can apply by October 31 at http://seap.asee.org/.  Visit Naviance (Colleges > Enrichment Programs) for additional summer opportunities.  
  • SENIORS - Goodwin College / High School Partnership Eligible seniors have the opportunity to take tuition-free courses at Goodwin College.  Must have a cumulative B average.  More information can be found at goodwin.edu/earlycollege, in Guidance or on the Guidance website.
